JEWELRY CARE Please wash your new jewelry & hands with a mild soap & water & dry thoroughly before inserting it into any piercings. Follow all of the guidelines for piercing care given by your piercer. Silver jewelry can tarnish over time. When your jewelry is exposed to moisture, sweat & oils from your skin, and/or products such as perfume & lotion, this process is sped up. This is a natural process & completely normal & harmless. It can be prevented or removed by using a commercial silver cleaner or jewelry polishing cloth. Plated & intentionally oxidized jewelry should not be polished as this could remove the finish. It can be cleaned using a mild jewelry cleaner designed for plated jewelry. These can be purchased commercially. Dry your jewelry immediately to protect the finish. Avoid rubbing the jewelry against anything rough or abrasive. Ideally your jewelry should not be worn while swimming, showering, sweating, or sleeping. At the very least I recommend avoiding submerging your jewelry in salt water or chlorinated water. This can immediately blacken your silver. It is best to store your jewelry in an airtight container or jewelry box designed to prevent tarnish when you are
